Real Madrid have played nine games in La Liga and already find themselves 8 points off Barcelona who are sitting pretty at the top of the table.

The defending champions had a terrible start to the season and have not been able yo fully recover from that. More so, Real Madrid have suffered greatly due to injuries and lack of form of their star players.

Gareth Bale has been sidelined for the past few weeks, while Benzema and Ronaldo have just not been finding the net regularly. While Messi is once again in imperious form for Barcelona, Ronaldo is simply not producing his usual output for the club.

Things are different for Ronaldo this season as their is a suspicion that his team mates are not looking for him as often as they would do so in the past.

Ronaldo always had a fiery personality and was often criticized by his team mates for sometimes being a bad influence in the dressing room. But back then, Ronaldo was producing on the pitch which offset any lingering ill-feelings towards him.

But Ronaldo is not the same player as he was a few years ago. Now he has become a more traditional number nine which is in sharp contrast to the flying winger that he was in his earlier years.

Also the emergence of Isco and Asensio has seen the growth of a Spanish power center within the dressing room as the fans are more inclined to support them rather than the Portuguese power center that was present for the past few years.

All this has taken its toll on Ronaldo who has now blamed Zidane for Real’s failures so far this season. Ronaldo is not alone in this opinion as Real’s president Florentino Perez also feels that Zidane’s tactics are getting stale, making his team easy to play against.

And if things do not improve soon, Zidane may even get the sack!

Let’s see what the future holds for Real Madrid.
