Cristiano Ronaldo blocks Paulo Dybala's goal bound strike, Juventus end up drawing

Cristiano Ronaldo blocks Paulo Dybala’s goal-bound strike, Juventus end up drawing against Sassuolo in 14th game-week match of the Serie A.

Juventus had an underwhelming performance against Sassuolo which cost them two points amidst the title race. The result of the game helped Inter Milan climbing at the top of the table after victory over Spal this afternoon.

After the match, it had been spotted that it could have been a different story if Cristiano Ronaldo had not made a blunder, which probably cost his side the game.

The Portuguese International accidentally blocked Paulo Dybala’s goal-bound strike. The Argentine found himself in space inside the box and swivelled to take aim at young goalkeeper Stefano Turati.

But to Dybala’s misfortune, Ronaldo was standing inside the 6-yard-box and prevented Dybala’s shot from troubling the goalkeeper. With this, the Turin based club lost 2 points as the score remained level by the end of 90 minutes.

Even though, Juventus is unbeaten in this season but are second in the table with one point behind table-toppers Inter Milan. The shift in the table can turn out to be a rare event in the league, as Juventus’ dominance in the Italian league is undisputed for the last 8 years.

Meanwhile, Maurizio Sarri spoke after the game and lamented the two points dropped by his side. He told DAZN per Football-Italia:

“It wasn’t a negative performance, but we opened up far too many spaces, lost the ball cheaply and didn’t use our brains. It went better in the second half, but in the first we got the feeling there wasn’t enough focus.

“We made some really daft errors, conceding a goal because we were too sluggish tracking back. The build-up play was slow too, the midfield movements were off. I think it was because we were coming off two very stressful games and it wasn’t easy to recharge the batteries.

“The team lacked a bit of brain and soul. The reaction came at the end and we could even have won it.” he concluded.
