Cristiano Ronaldo calls Lionel Messi over Ballon d’Or controversy!
With the Ballon d’Or award ceremony on the horizon, Cristiano Ronaldo is the odds one favourite to land his fifth title as the Portuguese is expected equal Lionel Messi’s record of five Ballon d’Ors.
It has been an extraordinary journey for these two footballing gods, as the pair have shared the title of the best player in the world over the last decade. Rivals for so long, Messi and Ronaldo now share a warm relationship that stems out of pure respect for one another.
This was seen at the FIFA awards a few weeks back, when Messi was seen smiling and applauding as Ronaldo went up the stage to pick up his award.

Recently it was said that the voting results for the upcoming Ballon d’Or award were leaked with Messi apparently winning the title ahead of Ronaldo. But those reports were refuted as the organizers maintain that nothing has been confirmed as of yet.
According to respected reporter Don Balon, Ronaldo has even spoken to Messi over the phone about the upcoming Ballon d’Or awards. The Argentine believes Ronaldo deserves the award this year and wished him all the best.
Ronaldo in reply feels that Messi will win the award next year as his stunning performances in this year’s campaign will surely lead to a few titles for Barcelona.
Brazil legend Kaka though wants to see a new winner, as he feels that his compatriot Neymar will surely attain the award very soon.
“Football isn’t an exact science so it’s difficult to say what will happen in the future, but I would say that the next winner of the Ballon d’Or after Cristiano and Messi will be Neymar,” Kaka told the Colombian media outlet El Espectador.
