Cristiano Ronaldo has dropped a response to his rumours of joining Barcelona this summer, as reports speculated that the Portuguese International might be sold by Juventus and Barcelona is the prime candidate to hire him.
It led to a sudden surge in the number of reports of his joining Barcelona. However, according to AS, Ronaldo’s camp has expressed the Portuguese superstar’s actual desire and he is not planning to leave Turin anytime soon.
The report states that Ronaldo and his family are very happy in Turin and Barcelona is the last destination in the mind of the 35-year-old superstar.
Ronaldo had another sensational performance this season with Juventus amassing 37 goals and 7 assists in 46 games across all competitions this season, fighting closely against Ciro Immobile, who won the European Golden Boot this season.
Cristiano Ronaldo fails to fulfil Juventus’ European desire
Juventus hired Ronaldo with only one objective that the greatest player in the Champions League will make them win the title which they haven’t won since 1996.
The Old Lady has been dominating the domestic competition, as it won its 9th straight Serie A title. However, it falls short in the apex European competition.
This season also they faced an upset against Lyon and were eliminated in the round of 16 round, it was for the first time since 2010 that Ronaldo exited the competition so early.
Hence, ending Juventus’ 2019/20 campaign. The elimination was so hard for Juventus’ bosses that the next day manager Maurizio Sarri faced the axe and was sacked.
Presently, Ronaldo is at his A-level game and might stay at the top for 2 more season maximum with such fitness, but for how long this union will stay alive, that’s the bigger question.
