Mario Hermoso transfer

Mario Hermoso transfer: The speculations over the transfer of central defender have significantly increased over the last few days.

Real Madrid cruised to a 4-2 victory over Celta Vigo last night, and climbed up to 6th position in the La Liga. After a poor first few months of the season, which saw Julen Lopetegui sacked after a thumping 5-1 loss to Barcelona in the league’s first El Clasico, Real Madrid have recovered under interim manager Santiago Solari.

The Spanish giants have closed the gap with Barcelona to four points after Valverde’s side suffered a shocking 4-3 defeat at Camp Nou against Real Betis.

Real Madrid, meanwhile, are also keeping tabs on the transfer market. The summer transfer window had been relatively uneventful for the Los Blancos, as the club didn’t make an attempt to replace the outgoing superstar Cristiano Ronaldo.

The speculations over Espanyol defender Mario Hermoso have grown significantly over the last few days, and Marca reports that Real Madrid are keen on him. Moreover, the club can sign him for as cheap as €7.5m, while Bayern Munich, the other interested club, will have to spend 40m on his signature.

Mario Hermoso transfer:

Mario Hermoso was a Real Madrid player before signing for Espanyol in 2017. He played for Real Madrid’s C and B sides, but didn’t make an appearance for the senior team.

The Spanish club inserted a buy-back clause on his sale to Espanyol, which allow Real Madrid to spend only 7.5m to avail his signature.

Leading Spanish media outlets like Cadena COPE and Marca have reported that Real Madrid want to exercise the buy-back clause on the player. However, the reports also claim that Bayern Munich are also keen on signing the player in January.

The defending German champions have had a tough season so far, and the hopes of another title seem to be slipping away after Borussia Dortmund registered a 3-2 victory over the side last weekend. Bayern are currently 5th in the Bundesliga.

What next?

Both the sides have had shaky starts to their respective league campaigns, but Real Madrid have an edge over the German side due to the buy-back clause.
