Cristiano Ronaldo rape case

Cristiano Ronaldo rape case: The Portuguese footballer’s ex-girlfriend, Nereida Gallardo has spoken in defence of Cristiano Ronaldo.

Portuguese footballer Cristiano Ronaldo has been accused of rape by a 33-year old US woman, Kathryn Mayorga. She has alleged that Ronaldo raped her in a hotel in Las Vegas in 2009.

The attorney of Kathryn Mayorga later revealed that a second woman contacted him and made the same claims about Cristiano Ronaldo.

English media outlet Mail reported that Leslie Stovall, the attorney of Mayorga has given the details about the claim made by the second woman to the Las Vegas police authorities. He, however, declined to name the woman.

“I have had a call from a woman who claims to have had a similar experience,” said Stovall, as quoted by Mail.

Nereida Gallardo, who dated Cristiano Ronaldo for eight months, has now spoken in defence of the Juventus footballer.

Cristiano Ronaldo rape case:

Gallardo insisted that Ronaldo has been a ‘perfect gent’ throughout the time she had been with him.

“[Ronaldo] was a courteous guy – warm and loving. He was always a gentleman with me,” said Gallardo.

“That’s why I was shocked when all this came out,” she added.

She stated that the Portuguese footballer treated her well and denies to believe the allegations made on him.

“Cristiano treated me well while I was with him.

“He was never ever aggressive towards me – not even near. I can’t see him forcing or holding down someone. He is not an aggressive guy in bed. I’ve had partners who have been verbally aggressive or who liked to grab me hard and he isn’t like that.”

Ronaldo and Gallardo dated while the footballer was at Manchester United. The couple split in August 2008, 10 months before Kathryn Mayorga alleged that Ronaldo raped her in a suite at Las Vegas.

Gallardo also said that she would be willing to testify in the court of law if she is approached for the same.

“So far I haven’t been contacted. But if I am, I would be willing to go and give evidence in his favour.”

Meanwhile, Ronaldo continues to play for Juventus, and scored the only goal for Juventus in the side’s 1-1 draw against Genoa. The Portuguese footballer will make a return to Old Trafford next week as Juventus plays Manchester United in the Champions League.
