Cristiano Ronaldo on the prospect of facing Real Madrid

Cristiano Ronaldo says he would give everything for Juventus should they face Real Madrid in the Champions League.

Cristiano Ronaldo left Real Madrid to join Juventus for a club record fee of 100 million. The former Los Blancos forward has been hitting the same form he is expected to in the recent months with the Old Lady following an uneasy start to the season.

Since Zinedine Zidane and Cristiano Ronaldo left the Spanish outfit, things have not gone in a smooth way for them. It has been struggles as they sit fourth in the La Liga table, just five points off the league leaders FC Barcelona who are with 34 points.

As the Champions League Round of 16 draw is going to take place today, Cristiano Ronaldo has put forward his thoughts about facing his former club Real Madrid in the successive round.

The Juventus forward added that he would give everything to Juventus to win if he faces his former side in the Champions League,  “For me, it’s all the same. The past is the past. Now, I want to win for Juve. I must defend these colours and the rest doesn’t count. If I would play against Real Madrid, I would look to give my utmost.”

“I had various options. I will not say which ones but I had them. I thought that Juve was a stable club, it has history, has played in two of the last Champions League finals, and had won the Serie A title seven times on the trot.

“I thought of what I experienced when I played here: The atmosphere. There were small details that made a great difference. The stability, the approach of the club President, and the fans. Now, I am 100 percent certain that it was the best option.” he said.

The Portuguese International has already scored one against one of his former sides in a 2-1 loss to Manchester United in the Champions League group stages. He will be determined to do the same should he face Real Madrid in the upcoming stages to prove the man whom he had a rift with, Florentino Perez.

In an interview earlier, Cristiano Ronaldo said that “I felt it inside the club, especially from the president, that they no longer considered me the same way that they did in the start,” he said. “In the first four or five years there I had the feeling of being ‘Cristiano Ronaldo’. Less afterwards. The president looked at me through eyes that didn’t want to say the same thing, as if I was no longer indispensable to them, if you know what I mean.

“The truth is that the president wanted me but, at the same time, he made it known to me that my departure would not constitute a problem.”

Cristiano Ronaldo spent 9 years at Santiago Bernabeu and he is the top scorer for the Los Blancos with 450 goals in 438 games. Having netted 121 goals in the European competition, the Portuguese International is the top scorer in that competition too. He has left a legacy back in Real Madrid which is unparalleled.
