Ronaldo and Kohli both are both the best players in their side and arguably the world. They both have received a fair share of criticism from the fans and strive under pressure. Ronaldo and Kohli seem to perform best when they have a point to prove.
However, with football being the more global game between the two, it is only natural that Ronaldo has more eyes on him than Kohli. It is therefore not surprising that Ronaldo has a much higher net worth than the Indian skipper.
Cristiano Ronaldo vs Virat Kohli Net Worth
To put the gap into perspective, Cristiano Ronaldo was ranked 2nd in Forbes top 100 highest earning sportsperson while Kohli barely made the list at the 100th spot. The Portuguese made the list on the back of the $109m he earned over the last 12 months with $65m coming from salary and winnings and $44 coming from endorsements.
Kohli on the other hand made it to the list by earning $21m from endorsements and $4m from salary and winnings, taking his total tally to $25m for the last 12 months. He is also the only cricketer to have made the list.
Ronaldo has a number of endorsement deals with the likes of Nike, Herbalife and Electronic Arts, who make the video game FIFA. The contract with Nike is in fact a lifetime contract said be worth in excess of £760m ($1bn). Ronaldo also charges around £786k for a sponsored post on his Instagram. This is the third highest figure only behind Kylie Jenner and Ariana Grande.
Virat Kohli, who’s earnings mostly come from endorsements, is the brand ambassador of 23 products in the Indian Market. Kohli also endorses some of the finest brands such as Audi, Tissot, Puma, MRF, and Uber. With 102 million followers on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram, he is one of the most followed athlete in the world.
However, as brilliant as his numbers are, they pale in comparison to Cristiano Ronaldo’s. Not like Kohli will mind it though. He’s probably happier knowing that bowlers around the world cower every time he picks up a bat. And that’s a feeling no bank balance in the world can buy.
