Cristiano Ronaldo: The Portuguese star has an abysmal record at Juventus that he would want to get rid off as soon as possible.

Cristiano Ronaldo is often associated with performance. While most players his age move on to easier leagues to continue playing without taxing their ageing knees, Ronaldo has been slugging it out with Juventus as he chases yet another Champions League.

Cristiano has played at the highest level since his teens and has never looked back. He thrives at the highest level and never shrugs from a challenge. He has won titles and awards at Manchester United, Real Madrid and now Juventus.

Ronaldo has made no secret that he thinks that he’s the best player in the world and wants to continue playing in a way fitting of the self-claimed title. His 700 career goals would however, back his words.

Wonder goals, 30-yard screamers, headers and free kicks, you name it and Cristiano has done it. In fact, on a daily basis. However, it is the last of the list that has suddenly become his bane at the Italian club.

Cristiano Ronaldo and his unenviable record at Juventus

The Five-time Ballon D’Or has been assigned as Juventus’ free kick taker since his arrival. He has had 28 attempts from the spot. However, he has yet to find the back of the net for the Italian Champions!

In fact, of all his attempts from the spot, Ronaldo has sent the ball out twice and found the wall a massive 19 times including the last 9 consecutive attempts! Only 7 of those shots have forced the keeper to go for the save.

This is quite surprising considering Ronaldo has 54 goals from free kicks to his name throughout his career, His brilliant goal vs Spain in the world cup for Portugal to equalise immediately comes to mind.

At Turin though, Ronaldo is simply not the same. A better option for Maurizio Sarri’s side would be to have Miralem Pjanic take the free kicks. The Bosnian after all has 15 goals from free kicks since joining the Serie A in 2011.

That is the most out of any players who have played in the same time period. However, it is unlikely that Ronaldo would let go of the responsibility. He is insane in the sense that he doesn’t like to back down until he has proven himself.

This could go one of two ways for the Italian Champions. One, he could come back with a bucket of goals or two, the drought continues. No Juventus fan would like those odds though, considering the chance of one happening is a lot higher than the other.
