In what was expected to be a tight and cagey affair at the Santiago Bernabeu, Real Madrid rode on the back of Cristiano Ronaldo’s hat trick to swat away their neighbors Atletico in the first leg of Champions League semi finals. In what a supreme display, Ronaldo virtually booked Real’s passage into the final with a brilliant hat trick.
He scored a header in the first half to give Real the crucial lead in the match. As the match got stretched in the second half, Real pushed for a second which was duly delivered by their Portuguese talisman.
Ronaldo then pretty much booked Real’s ticket to Cardiff when he rounded off the night by scoring his third goal of the night as Real Madrid were comfortable victors on the night by three goals to nil.
This was Ronaldo’s eight goal in his last three Champions League matches after he scored a brace and a hat trick over two legs against Bayern Munich. What can you say about this man !
Here is how Twitter reacted to Ronaldo’s brilliant hat trick !

We may have won 3-0 tonight, but don't let it distract you from the fact that Lionel Messi blew a 4-1 Ballon D'Or lead vs Cristiano Ronaldo.

Only Cristiano Ronaldo can single-handedly put away Bayern and Atleti with hattricks in the space of a few weeks. Unbelievable footballer.
