CSK vs DC Match Prediction: The Sportsrush presents before you the Match Prediction of 50th match of IPL 2019.
Occupying the top two spots in the league standings, Delhi Capitals and Chennai Super Kings have without a doubt been the sides to keep an eye out for this season. In what has been a sensational edition of the IPL for both the units, the two have been in tremendous touch.
Functioning like a well-rounded side, both have clinically outplayed sides time and time again to profoundly stamp their authority throughout the entirety of the tournament.
It’s this equation that is set to make CSK vs DC a rapturous affair, one set to elevate the level of performances from the 11 set of players representing either franchisee.
With just two matches left to play in the group stage, both will want to build further on the momentum in their stead and ensure they head into the qualifier and eliminator in the best of form.
CSK vs DC – What numbers suggest?
Till date, the two outfits have met each other a total of 19 teams in the showpiece tournament with CSK way ahead of Delhi with the 13 wins against Delhi’s 6. Earlier in the tournament, the Delhi based side had gone down by 6 wickets as CSK had crumbled Delhi to a mere 147-4 in their backyard. Out of the five matches played in Chennai, CSK have won five matches as compared to DC’s two victories.

CSK vs DC – Key battles
Shane Watson vs Kagiso Rabada
By no stretch has this been the same year for Sane Watson as the previous one. He’s come up with one good inning in the 12 matches he’s partaken in till now, something that has been a cause of concern for CSK throughout the season.
On the contrary though, what bodes well for the outfit is that he’s starting to regain his form as we head into the knock-out matches and with Faf du Plessis expected to miss out again, he’ll need to score big alongside Vijay.
It will be no mean task for him though with Delhi giving the new ball to the purple cap holder Rabada who with 25 wickets in 12 matches has been more than efficient. Watson’s travesties against the fast, swinging and jabbing back in pace deliveries are well known as Rabada will be eyeing up his chances in this encounter.
Imran Tahir vs Colin Ingram
While Delhi’s top 3 are coming up with the runs, it’s the middle-order that persists to be a cause of concern for the unit. Underwhelming and tentative batting has seen the side throw away the advantage given to it by the batsmen at the top of the pile and on a pitch that will favour the bowlers, Ingram will come into play.
He’ll most likely come in at a time when CSK have Tahir operating for them. In Ingram, Delhi have a batsman who won’t find it a travail to play the ominous spinning delivery and if he gets set, Delhi can make the most of the middle overs.
CSK vs DC – Match Prediction
In a clash that is set to be fought once again when these two sides meet for the first qualifier a week later, this encounter will prepare us for things to come in that pivotal match. While Delhi have been terrific outside the Feroz Shah Kotla, it might be a tad too tough for them to adjust on a pitch that is made for spinners.
It’s the middle-order which will flummox the visiting side the most and with CSK’s superior depth in batting along with Dhoni returning to the side, the Super Kings hold the clear advantage in this match. They’ll be reeling after the unsavoury 49 run defeat against MI and expect them to come strongly out of the blocks to win this face-off.
