CSK vs RR Dream 11 Prediction: IPL Fantasy Tips for CSK vs RR as The SportsRush helps you make the best Dream 11 team possible

The two teams that faced off in the first ever IPL final, lock horns at the Chepauk on Sunday evening. Having been suspended from the IPL for two years, these two franchises have endured a lot of pain and have worked hard towards re-assembling things.

The fans have backed them all through and are now being rewarded by the franchises in terms of pure entertainment. While CSK delivered an IPL title in their comeback season, RR need to work hard in order to repay their fans for all the support in torrid times.

The two franchises are on the two ends of the spectrum with respect to results in the first two games. While CSK have won their first two encounters, RR have painfully gone down.

With the game set to happen in Chennai, one can expect another low-scoring encounter, as the Chepauk track can offer venomous turn. MS Dhoni did express concern over how the wicket behaved and might want the groundsman to dish out a quicker surface this time, one that does offer turn, but not as much as we saw in the first game.

Let’s get to business now.

CSK vs RR Dream 11 Prediction

Wicketkeeper

For the wicketkeeping slot, it would be a direct shootout between Jos Buttler and MS Dhoni. Despite all of MS Dhoni’s exploits, the fact that he bats low down the order does not gift him with a lot of ‘fantasy potential’. Jos Buttler has been striking the ball brilliantly and most importantly bats a the top of the order, something that multiplies his fantasy potential multifold.

Yes, hitting the spin out of the park is going to be difficult, but you wouldn’t want to leave out a match winner like Jos Buttler out of your fantasy side. Get him in, he just might go berserk tomorrow.

Bowlers

Jofra Archer has to be unluckiest of all bowlers in the IPL this season. He has been brilliant for the Royals during the death overs. While he was taken to the cleaners by Rashid Khan in the last game, every other batsmen has found it tough to get away his 145kmph+ yorkers. Amongst the death bowlers on display for Sunday evening, he is by far the best. Get him in.

Imran Tahir has bamboozled teams with his leg spin trickery in the first two games. Figures of 4-1-9-3 and 2-0-20-1, Tahir should be one of your first picks for this game, especially considering his 3 wickets for 9 runs spell against RCB at the same venue.

Harbhaja Singh too dished out some venomous stuff the last time CSK played at the Chepauk. He got rid of Virat Kohli, ABD and Moeen Ali in a spell that completely tilted the game in the favour of the Super Kings. At just 8cr, he helps us with budget constraints and is also certain to chip in with a couple of wickets, if the wicket assists him like last time.

All-Rounders

Dwayne Bravo is one of the best bowling all-rounders around, especially when he plays for CSK at Chennai. The way Dhoni uses him makes him a fantasy manager’s best friend. Bravo bowls almost all of his overs at the death, and when the ball is gripping on that sluggish Chennai surface, he turns into a different beast. Those lethal slower one’s have even more venom at Chennai and the batsmen can find it very difficult to get him away. Add to that his lower order hitting skills. Get him in at all costs.

Ravindra Jadeja is one of the best bowlers to have when the wicket is turning, as when the batsmen end up playing for the turn, Jadeja sneaks one in that goes with the arm. He picked up a couple of wickets against RCB and looked lethal against DC too. Against a RR outfit that predominantly has right-handers in its top order, Jadeja could be extremely useful.

Ben Stokes is one of the leading all-rounders in the world. RR have trusted him with the number 5 batting spot and with death bowling duties. No matter what his form, no matter who the opposition, his ‘role’ is enough to warrant him a place in my side.

Batsmen

Ajinkya Rahane and Sanju Samson are touch players, one’s that can adjust to slow tracks pretty quickly. The SRH surface on which these two strung together a brilliant partnership was on the slow side and still the duo managed to find a way to score runs, and that too quickly.

On a pitch that is going to assist the spinners, these two touch players will come in very handy, especially the kind of form that they presently are in.

Kedar Jadhav is being trusted in tat number 4 role by MS Dhoni this season. And Jadhav hasn’t really disappointed. He seems to be the perfect fit for CSK at 4, as he is able to rotate the strike and go big at the end as well. Also, Jadhav’s low and slow off-spinners can really trouble the opposition on slow and low decks.

For the final pick of this game, I get in Suresh Raina, who is an excellent player of spin and could really take the attack to the Royals, who don’t really have a quality spin bowling lineup.

Captain: Dwayne Bravo(if CSK bowl first)/Suresh Raina(if CSK bat first)

Vice-Captain: Imran Tahir(if CSK bat first)/Ben Stokes(if RR bat first)
