CSK's heartening Birthday wish for Suresh Raina

CSK’s heartening Birthday wish for Suresh Raina: The three-time IPL winners posted a series of tweets for their highest run-scorer.

IPL franchise Chennai Super Kings seem to be trying their best to make their vice-captain Suresh Raina’s day for the cricketer turns 32 today. Raina was one of the rare players to play for the same franchise in CSK for the first eight years of the tournament.

After leading Gujarat Lions for a couple of years (2016-2017), Raina was roped back into the CSK squad earlier this years. Not disappointing his fans, Raina was among the runs this year as CSK registered their third IPL title.

In 14 matches this year, Raina scored 445 runs at an average of 37.08 and a strike rate of 132.44, including four half-centuries. In the 171 matches which he has played for CSK across tournament, he has scored 4,986 runs at an average of 35.11 and a strike rate of 140.92.

Raina is also the highest run-scorer in the IPL, a record which he has kept under his belt for most part of the last 11 years. In 176 IPL matches, Raina has scored 4,985 runs at an average of 34.37 and a strike rate of 138.43.

For a cricketer who has accumulated so many memories and fans from a single franchise, such affection is bound to happen. Read CSK’s series of tweets for Raina below:
