Brazil’s Copa America triumph on Sunday night helps Dani Alves break yet another record. 

Dani Alves captained Brazil in the Copa America final to beat Peru 3-1 in front of the exuberant Maracana crowd in Brazil. On Sunday night, the Brazilian made history – collectively and individually as the Selecao won their first big trophy in 12 years, whereas, the right-back becomes the first player in the history winning 40 trophies in his joy-filled career.

Boasting ridiculous 40 trophies for his club and country, Dani Alves writes himself in the history books – arguably going down as the best ever right-back ever. Over the years, Alves has managed to feature for Bahia, Sevilla, Barcelona, Juventus, and Paris Saint-Germain – enjoying success at every single club.

The 36-year-old initiated his trophy galore at Bahia, with a domestic cup competition named Copa Do Nordeste. Primarily, for a year, Alves spent his European career on loan at Sevilla from Bahia. He played a crucial part from the second season and went on to make 250 appearances for the club.

He lifted the Copa Del Rey once, Supercopa De Espana once, UEFA Cup twice, and UEFA Super Cup twice. He decided to integrate himself with Pep’s legacy at Barcelona – writing unparalleled history at the club. The Blaugrana, once, clean swept all the available trophies in a single campaign and became the first ever club to do so.

He spent eight years at Nou Camp – lifting the La Liga six times, Champions League thrice, Copa Del Rey four times, Supercopa De Espana four times, UEFA Super Cup thrice, and the Club World Cup thrice. He won a total of staggering 23 trophies during his eight-year spell at the club.

He sought a new challenge and opted to sign for the Italian heavyweights Juventus. He lifted the Serie A and Coppa Italia during his only season at the club, before signing for Paris Saint Germain in 2017. He has won a total of six trophies, including, Ligue 1 twice, Coupe De France and Coupe de la League once, and Trophee des Champions twice.

With his country, he has managed to lift the trophy on five occasions. He has won the Copa America and Federations Cup twice, and FIFA World Youth Championship once.

Excluding the collective trophies, Dani Alves was part of the UEFA Team of the Year five times and FIFA FIFPro World11 eight times – articulating his stellar career filled with an abundance of trophies.
