Daniel Ricciardo’s Renault contract details [SportsMail]
The F1 world is still recovering from all the Daniel Ricciardo to Renault talk after the Australian made the shock announcement yesterday, when it almost seemed like he was ready to start a fresh contract with Red Bull.

However, the growing favouritism towards Verstappen and probably Red Bull’s vision with the Honda engine did not bode well with Ricciardo.
While the Red Bull departure announcement was made, speculations around Ricciardo’s future had gone to an all time high, but he did not waste any time in confirming his F1 future, as Renault came up with a post about Ricciardo’s deal with the team.

No official contract details were announced yesterday, however Sportsmail has reported that Daniel Ricciardo will earn £20 million a year at Renault. He has signed a two year contract as Renault did not want just a one year commitment.
The £20 million salary is half of what Lewis Hamilton is scheduled to earn at Mercedes from next year. So, Ricciardo has infact taken a price cut of sorts in order to drive for Renault. However, with Ferrari and Mercedes not being interested in Ricciardo, Red Bull might have been offering him way lesser than the £20 million figure.
Ricciardo today broke his silence on social media over the switch, labelling it as the toughest decision of his racing career.
A change is gonna come. Excited for the next chapter with @RenaultSportF1. Thank you for the kind messages and well wishes I’ve received. pic.twitter.com/2qpKYYGGvH
