David De Gea: PSG submits a massive fee for the goalkeeper

David De Gea: PSG submits a massive fee for the goalkeeper as the French club seeks to gain the services of the Spanish player.

According to Canal + reporter Geoffroy Garétier, PSG offered a massive fee of €70 million for David De Gea, since they need to bolster their goalkeeping department ahead of Alphonse Areola and Gianluigi Buffon.

The reporter revealed, “Paris Saint-Germain are seeking a world-class goalkeeper now more than ever, the club have made an offer for David de Gea.” Garétier said.

Whereas, the Spanish goalkeeper is tied with Manchester United till next summer and the club is further trying to extend his contract.

However, De Gea has thwarted further negotiations to extend the contract. It seems that the 28-year-old goalkeeper wants to seek better prospects, especially after an underwhelming season with Manchester United this season.

On the other hand, PSG manager Thomas Tuchel has made no secret about the need of signing a new goalkeeper, as constant rotation between Areola and Buffon did more harm than benefit to the club.

“We can’t go on like this, we’re the first club in the history of football to do it, it’s not possible.” the German said recently – as per Sport Bible.

Manchester United could be compelled to let De Gea leave this summer on a €70 million tranfer, instead of losing him for free next year. Moreover, the massive amount can aid Ole Solskjaer to fund the massive squad overhaul plan.

Whereas, De Gea has struggled to remain at his top form this season and have been criticized for his high profile errors. Although, considering the competition in Ligue 1, the Spanish International can easily thrive in France.
