Man Utd Transfer News: Solskjaer eyes £100 million rated Bundesliga starlet

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is eyeing a move for Bayer Leverkusen youngster Kai Havertz.

Manchester United were able to pick up just one point against already-relegated Huddersfield Town and Cardiff City in the last two games of the Premier League. The Red Devils finished sixth, thereby diminishing their Champions League hopes which were at stake when their top four rivals were dropping points for fun.

Solskjaer has already said that the club is looking to bring in new faces to upgrade their squad and take small steps towards Premier League success. The Norwegian International has stated the club will not rush to transfer signings because of the poor recruitment over the last few years.

Europa League might not be at stake till yet, but the club still has the pulling power to lure in fantastic talents. The Red Devils boss spoke about the importance of youth policy which will come handy for the long-term future. As they plan with a longer sight in front of them, Manchester United have shown clear interest on Bayer Leverkusen attacking midfielder Kai Havertz, according to ESPN.

The German International is one of the best young players in Europe currently having had an excellent campaign under Peter Bosz. The 19-year-old had made 33 appearances this term, scoring on 16 occasions and picking out his teammates thrice. Bayer Leverkusen have signalled their intent to sell him for no lesser than €100 million in the summer transfer window, the price which put off Bayern Munich.

There are several clubs in the queue for the golden boy, including Manchester United and Bayern Munich. Chelsea is another side to keep an eye on him. Despite alluring interest from a host of clubs, Kai Havertz will not be forcing out of the club as he seeks to develop under Peter Bosz.

Paul Pogba’s head has been turned by Real Madrid and Anthony Martial’s inconsistency have come back to bite their back. A move for Kai Havertz could be on the cards if Red Devils wish to spend heavily this summer.

What’s next?

Manchester United will have to wait until the FA Cup final to learn their fate. If Watford pull off a rabbit out of the hat by beating Manchester City, Solskjaer’s men will be forced to play the third Qualifying round of the Europa League.
