David De Gea pulls a magnificent save against Sweden in European qualifier match

David De Gea pulls a magnificent save for Spain against Sweden in the European qualifier match which ended in a 1-1 draw.

Spain played against Sweden in the European qualifier match last night. A tough away fixture for La Roja’s but they ended up drawing the match by 1-1 after Rodrigo scores in the injury time.

Although it would not have been possible if David De Gea had not made a magnificent save in the 31st minute to deny Robin Quaison powerful header from Mikael Lustig’s powerful header.

Manchester United’s goalkeeper has been subject to massive criticism by his fans after he became victim to his poor form resulting in high-profile errors. Therefore, it was nostalgic to see De Gea pull such a crucial save after so long.

This was the first appearance of De Gea for Spain in a while, as Kepa Arrizabalaga has taken the spot ahead of him in the pecking order of the national team in recent matches.

So, the Red Devils’ fans would be hopeful to see de Gea making such splendid saves for them in the matches ahead in the Premier League as the international break is over.

Although, Manchester United fans will have to wait for a little longer as De Gea was taken off from the pitch after a suspected groin strain that could rule him out of the tie at Old Trafford.

Manchester United will play Liverpool in the next Premier League fixture at the Old Trafford, and with Alisson Becker being fit, it would be even tougher for Manchester United to penetrate the Reds in the current form.

On top of that, they would have to face the trio of Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah without De Gea guarding the goal. Sergio Romero is expected to take the responsibility of the goal-posts for Manchester United in the absence of his superior.
