David De Gea to PSG: The Spanish goalkeeper could become the highest paid goalkeeper, according to English media outlet Mail.
David De Gea’s contract at the club expires at the end of the summer. The Spanish goalkeeper joined Manchester United in 2011 and established himself as one of the best goalkeepers in the world at the club. However, while De Gea achieved many individual accolades during his time at Old Trafford, his club honours are limited.
In his seven full seasons at United, De Gea has won one Premier League title, a FA Cup, a Europa League title, and one EFL Cup. Moreover, despite securing the highest finish in the league last season since the retirement of Sir Alex Ferguson, De Gea endured a trophyless season at the club.
Justifiably, various reports state that the goalkeeper is reluctant on signing the new contract at the club. The side is currently 7th in the league after Manchester United were held to a disappointing draw at Old Trafford by Crystal Palace.
English media outlet Mail now reports that French champions PSG are preparing a move for the Spanish goalkeeper, which could make him the highest-paid player in front of the goal.
David De Gea to PSG:
Mail reports that PSG are weighing in on a move for De Gea. The current contract for the Spanish goalkeeper with United expires next year, and PSG are considering a salary in the region of £300,000/week for the player.

According to the report, PSG aims to get around the Financial Fair-Play rules by selling Neymar to Real Madrid, and build their team around Kylian Mbappe.
Jose walks up to Lindelof & gives him a hug. The only player besides De Gea who showed who played with balls. Uniited need to rethink its recruitment philosophy. We have good players but most do not feel anything in their hearts for our club. And a negative system doesnt help.

Mail claims that PSG are “now the clear front-runners and able to sign a pre-contract agreement with him in January.”
If De Gea is to leave Manchester United, I’m not sure anyone can blame him. Has given his all for the club and has stayed past what was expected of him. Deserves to be playing at a far higher level and competing for major honours.

De Gea has been under scanner for underwhelming performances for the Spanish side, as his poor form for the national side continued after the world cup in Russia. Mourinho defended his player, though, stating that he remains the best goalkeeper in the world.
Mourinho: “De Gea critics? Why in Spain? Do you know? I know. Because there is somebody very powerful that is thinking about jumping (in Spain team) again but I think it’s very difficult to jump when you have the best goalkeeper in the world in front of you.” #mulive [telegraph]

Earlier, it has been reported that Manchester United have identified Everton star Jordan Pickford to replace De Gea in front of the goal. The offer is rumoured to be in the region of £60m for the English goalkeeper.
