“The Showoff” Dolph Ziggler shocked the WWE Universe by relinquishing his United States title after the post-Clash of Champions Smackdown show.
Ziggler has not yet made an appearance and the tournament to crown the new United States champion is in the process.
According to cagesideseats.com, Ziggler is expected to make his return during the Royal Rumble pay-per-view or on the post-Rumble Smackdown.
The plans for Ziggler has not been revealed, and it seems like that he will be in the United states title picture once again.
Ziggler won the United states championship by defeating Baron Corbin and Bobby Roode at the Clash of Champions in a highly surprising result.
Ziggler was last seen on television in a promo targeting the fans and left the ring without his title. Ziggler has voiced his displeasure over the booking and has termed himself as a “gatekeeper”.
The Showstopper was put as bait to launch the main roster debuts of Shinsuke Nakamura and Bobby Roode.
It will be interesting how the WWE books Ziggler upon his return, Ziggler might have a high calibre title match at Wrestlemania as he has unfinished business with the United States title.
