Dota 2 Bali Major 2023 schedule & format

The final major of the 2023 DPC season, Dota 2 Bali Major 2023 will start on June 29 and will go on till July 9. During this time, the tournament will feature two stages filled with multiple Dota 2 matches and series. The two stages are:

  • Group Stage
  • Playoffs

Group Stage

This stage will begin on June 29 and will end on July 3. It will feature two groups of nine teams pitching against each other in a single round-robin format. Every series will showcase a best-of-2 series. The top four teams will qualify for the upper bracket of the Playoffs.

The next two slots from each group will dive deep into the lower brackets with zero room for error. And as for the remaining three teams, they will be all disqualified.

Playoffs

Starting on July 5, this stage will feature a double-elimination bracket with all matches played out in a best-of-3 series manner. Except for the Grand Final. That special set will feature a best-of-5 format, fitting for champions.

Dota 2 Bali Major 2023 venue

For the first time in forever, instead of an indoor stadium, this major will take place in the Ayana Estate. It is not every day that you see a major tournament in esports being hosted in a closed estate. While the entirety of the scenario is still unknown, fans are wondering how fan engagement will take place during matches.

Surely Valve has thought of some alternative or say better option. Because if there is one thing you cannot take away from esports professionals, that is the crowd. A  hearing crowd can turn the tide of games at a moment’s notice.

Dota 2 Bali Major 2023 prize pool

The total prize pool of the Bali Major showcases a staggering amount of $5,00,000. While the money factor is important, the more important prize pool remains to be the 3,500 DPC points that will be distributed based on the team’s position at the end of the tournament.
