Gary Paffett has been crowned as the 2018 DTM Champion, making it his 2nd championship overall.
Paffett had to ensure a top 4 finish in order to secure the title in Hockenheim, and he managed to secure 3rd place, but not without some drama.
Rene Rast won the final race in Hockenheim, but that couldn’t stop Paffett from winning the title, in the last race for himself and Mercedes in DTM.
And while the win would be a sweet one for Paffett, he was involved in a massive controversy yesterday, where in he was reprimanded for swearing on the team radio.
Gary Paffett then released a twitter post, apologising for using expletives on the radio.
“To everyone out there. My sincere apologies for some bad language that you may have heard on my radio after the race today. It was unprofessional and I hope no one took offence from what I said.” Paffett said.
And while the controversy could have been shut down after this tweet, Paffett made the mistake of liking a tweet that called out Mercedes for forcing him to apologise.
“Fuck me this shit has to stop. Can people stop buying Mercedes until drivers don’t have to cunting apoligise for shitting out swear words. May as well just fuck it all off and install AI drivers. Fuckkkkk me.” the tweet read.
