Erling Haaland goal Vs Schalke: Borussia Dortmund star became the first goalscorer in the post-COVID European football.

The return of Bundesliga has brought some respite for the football fans and Rivier Derby was expected to give a good momentum to the restart of the league.

Erling Haaland, who was expected to display a good show didn’t disappoint in doing the above mentioned task. The Norweigan International found the net in 29th minute to give a crucial lead to his side against Schalke.

Julian Brandt flicks the ball into the path of Thorgan Hazard, who sends a cross into the middle. Haaland, as he so often does, makes the finish look easy as he opens up his body and guides the ball away from Markus Schubert.

Both teams had a sluggish start in the game, but Borussia Dortmund soon found the composure and started to dominate in the match. They further scored another goal just before half-time with a calm finish by Raphael Guerrero.

Hazard played a good part in Borussia Dortmund’s impactful play in the first half, but ironically an hour before the match he was not even in the playing eleven and was brought in to start at the last moment in place of Giovanni Reyna who got injured during the warm-up.

Therefore, Die Borrusen will enter into the second half with a significant lead. Meanwhile, Freiburg missed being the team to score the first goal in the post-COVID era just by 5 minutes.

Both Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig are needed to win this match if they wish to remain in the title contention ahead. Now it remains to be seen how well the home side approaches the match in the second half.
