Wales booked their place in the Semifinals of Euro 2016 after a convincing 3-1 win against Belgium , their first semifinal appearance at a major tournament. Wales fell behind after a brilliant strike from Radja Nainggolan early on which was cancelled out by captain Ashley Williams. Wales took the lead in the second half through Robson Kanu before Voakes confirmed Wales’s place in the semis late on. Here are 5 things we learnt from Wales vs Belgium :

1 Wales were brilliant

Wales were brilliant throughout the game apart from the initial first few minutes when Belgium scored. They dominated going forward and defended brilliantly. They deservedly equalised through captain Ashley Williams who was left unmarked in the box. Second half was no different and although Belgium dominated possession, Wales always possessed a threat on counters. They have now reached the Semi Finals of the Euro 2016 defeating one of the tournament contenders.

2 Belgium fail at the big stage , again

Sure they missed key and experienced defenders in Vermaelen and  Vertonghen. They now need to accept that their star players lost to a great team in Wales.

3 Aaron Ramsey had a great game

4 Robson-Kanu deserves a Premier League move

Robson Kanu has one of the worst conversation rates for a striker at club level . He has scored just 39 goals from almost 280 games at Reading, and maybe that was the factor which Reading considered after they decided to release him at the end of last season. He has been simply sensational at the Euros. His goal against Belgium is surely going down amongst all time greatest Welsh goals , and clubs should be keeping their options open. There is a free agent full with confidence with unbelievable quality.
