Ever Banega to Arsenal: Arsenal eyeing Argentine as top January transfer, as Emery identifies him as a potential replacement for Ramsey.

Arsenal endured a very busy and productive summer as far as the transfer business was concerned. The two months of July and August included numerous arrivals into Emery’s squad which is surely whey stronger than it was six months ago under Wenger. The Gunners made a number of signings and built up every position on the field.

It has been less than a month since the transfer window ended. One of the busiest sides in Arsenal has played five Premier League games and won three of them, with new players shining on greener pastures. It is just September, which means that the January transfer window is four months away. Yet, the Gunners are already planning for winter business.

After falling out of favour at the Emirates Stadium, several players are expected to depart the club and as a result, Emery has already informed Arsenal’s top officials about his top priority for the January window- Ever Banega. The former Paris Saint-Germain is familiar with the Argentine since their time together in Spain.

During his highly successful stint in Seville, Ever Banega was a huge part of the current Arsenal manager’s plans. In fact, Banega featured as many as 200 times under the Andalusian manager within four seasons, which is an exceptional number of outings and also a straightforward determinant of his importance in Emery’s system.

The Arsenal manager was looking for a move for the 30 year old immediately upon arriving at the Emirates but a host of new signings meant that a move did not formulate. But Emery already knows his plans for January and signing Ever Banega will be given paramount importance, more so due to the uncertainty surrounding Aaron Ramsey’s future.

The Rosario born midfielder has great versatility in the centre of the park and will come for a reasonable price. His current contract with the Spanish outlet ends next summer and has a release clause of 18 million pounds, which is a very affordable cost.
