$285 Million worth Lewis Hamilton doesn't "waste money" doing any of the "Christmas festivities sh*t"

After another long, hectic and ‘not-so-satisfying’ 2022 championship season coming to an end, Mercedes Lewis Hamilton now has time to enjoy his winter break and take a break from racing while prepping for the next season.

In an interview with the Sunday Times Magazine in 2020, Hamilton revealed how he spends the Christmas holidays. The Briton said that he prefers spending time with his family more than getting involved in the materialistic aspect of the festival.

Critics have previously called out Hamilton for living an extravagant lifestyle especially after he moved to tax haven Monaco.

But speaking in that interview, the Stevenage-born revealed that time taught him that he “didn’t actually need any of that sh*t.”

Lewis Hamilton doesn’t “waste money” on gifts

While it is a common ritual to exchange gifts with your loved ones during Christmas, the Hamilton family does not “waste money” on purchasing gifts for one another.

The $285 Million worth driver said that his family hits the shops to find cheap gifts, limiting themselves to just half an hour. On the day of Christmas, they come together and roll the dice and everyone chooses what they want as a present from the pile.

“It is the most fantastic thing,” he described.

F1 fans criticised for F1 Secret Santa Shenanigans

As a tradition, F1 released its newest version of the Secret Santa video with the drivers and with Hamilton not being a part of the video, it did not sit well with some of the fans.

While participating in the Secret Santa shenanigans is a choice and Hamilton opts out of it, fans question why doesn’t the 7-time world champion participate in it.
