4 Years After Shoving Esteban Ocon Max Verstappen Comes to Alpine Star’s Rescue Right Before Much Awaited Moment

The relationship between Red Bull star Max Verstappen and his Alpine counterpart, Esteban Ocon, is everything but sweet. Despite sharing a salty relationship, Verstappen, however, has come to the Frenchman’s aide and saved his day.

The Brazilian GP incident between Verstappen and Ocon will always be a race to remember [or forget] for both. The incident earned the two-time world champion “Mad Max” as his nickname.

The recent development showed that the duo is nowhere when it comes to grudges that the Red Bull star had four years ago.

It’s believed that things have improved between them over time as they are no more directly in contention for the championship or a seat. Verstappen is winning championships, whereas Ocon is doing well in Alpine.

What happened between Ocon and Verstappen in Monaco?

Surely, the two drivers aren’t holding swords against each other. If that would’ve been the case, Verstappen would have stayed put and not come out to rescue Ocon with his champagne.

As per a video shared by renowned F1 media figure Kym Illman, Ocon, who made all the headlines by claiming his surprising podium in Monte Carlo was about to slip off the podium stand.

This was because the entire area was wet due to the champagne delivered by F1 being sprayed. As Ocon was about to slip, he knock the bottle over. But the Dutchman was there to his rescue.

Luckily, he was there to rescue the champagne bottle from falling over. In doing so, he saved Esteban Ocon’s day of celebrating the rare podium.

What happened in the 2018 Brazilian GP between Verstappen and Ocon?

The 2018 Brazilian Grand Prix was a race that brought out the ugly side of them when the Dutchman lost his win after tangling with the then-Force India driver.

Verstappen was leading the race and was on his way to lap Ocon. However, failing to get past, the duo got close, and that was the moment he was nicked by the Frenchman. This resulted in him losing the race to Lewis Hamilton.

Following this, the 25-year-old turned furious and shoved the current Alpine star once the race finished. And led to the FIA ordering Max Verstappen to two days of community service.
