Sergio Perez has been going through a woeful phase in his 2023 campaign since this year’s Monaco GP. However, the Red Bull driver can celebrate some news during his mid-season blues.
When Checo is not racing, he is a family man. The Mexican married his longtime girlfriend Carola Martinez in 2018 after being in a relationship for many years.
He has three children; two sons Sergio Jr (5) and Emilio (1) and one daughter (3). The Red Bull driver will soon be welcoming another member to the Perez family, according to his wife’s latest announcement.
Sergio Perez and his wife to welcome their 4th Child
Sergio Perez has often stated his love for spending time with his family in Mexico. After the 2023 Canadian GP, he flew back home to spend ‘Father’s Day’ with his family, where his wife Carola revealed she is pregnant.
The F1 driver’s wife revealed the news via her Instagram story. She shared a picture of her baby bump with the caption “cooking with love.” She delivered her 3rd child, Emilio last May.

The 32-year-old is one of the three drivers on the 2023 F1 grid to be a father. The other two are Haas’s duo, Kevin Magnussen and Nico Hulkenberg.
Definitely, a father’s role for an F1 driver is not easy. The extensive traveling and training do not leave much room in a year’s calendar for drivers to spend time with their families. However, Checo needs to be more cautious this time after the driver was caught cheating.
Perez accused of cheating on his wife
Sergio Perez was caught in the middle of scandalous claims after winning the 2022 Monaco GP. The Mexican driver was seen partying on a yacht and getting too close to a woman who was not his wife.
The incident occurred right after his wife delivered their third child. It was a big talking point as many fans criticized the Red Bull driver for dishonoring his marriage. He later took ownership of the incident and apologized for his mistake.
The driver addressed the claims on his Instagram, “It was a bad party that I did not know how to control myself. But it was just that, a bad party,” as reported by TMZ.
Checo claims he and his wife are “more united than ever.” He also stated that he would never cheat on his wife, and the ones close to him know the kind of person the Red Bull F1 driver is.
While the news of a new family member is great news, Perez faces an uphill battle this season. After three successive pre-Q3 exits since the 2023 Monaco GP, he has also lost the chance to fight against Max Verstappen in the title battle. And now, he is facing a challenge from Fernando Alonso for the P2 spot in the standings. Hopefully, the news brings good fortunes to the driver’s season.
