After Lionel Messi, Carlos Sainz Senior & Junior get honoured with bishts

After the world cup final, the biggest controversy was Lionel Messi being draped with a bisht by Qatar’s Emir right before the trophy was given. Western media outlets and journalists bashed the hosts for including their traditions in Argentina’s moment.

Though, this point was countered by the Arabian world by claiming that it’s the biggest honour given to an individual in the region. They also pointed out that even Messi didn’t mind, then what’s the problem?

This controversy was the final addition to the accusations surrounding Qatar amidst their World Cup. But certainly, Qatari shops received a huge demand for bishts, which had more positives than negatives.

Carlos Sainz Senior and Junior receive bishts

With the F1 season over, Carlos Sainz is out with Carlos Sainz senior. The two were spotted in a picture with a Saudi Arabian rally driver Yazeed Alrajhi. Apparently, he had given him golden bishts.

Seeing by their expression, the two were certainly delighted with respect. Though, it wasn’t near the galore Messi received while getting his black Bisht with golden boundaries.

The Sainz duo were in Saudi Arabia, as this edition of the Dakar rally happened there, and Sainz senior is competing in the completion with Alrajhi. The former leads the chart after Stage 2, while the latter is at P6.

Ferrari star not bothered by Charles Leclerc’s closeness to the new boss

Ferrari recently appointed Frederic Vasseur as the team principal to replace Mattia Binotto. It’s reported that the new boss has good relations with Charles Leclerc, as the latter has served him during his Sauber days.

But this information doesn’t bother Sainz. He claims that he will also manage to have a good bond with Vasseur, and on the contrary, his well-tested relations with the Monegasque would only benefit the team.

Therefore, he doesn’t;t think he’ll start from scratch at Ferrari in 2023. Though, in 2022, eventually, Sainz found himself below the pecking order against his teammate.

Considering Ferrari would aim to contest for the title, Sainz would want to assert himself too, as he also holds title ambitions and certainly doesn’t consider himself inferior to Leclerc. History is evidence that such a scenario can cause friction in the team.

Hence, it would be on Vasseur how to keep his team’s man-management. So far, Ferrari has been away from the driver politics, but they also failed to go deep in the championship fight. So, their alliance is still untested.
