According to the latest reports, McLaren boss Zak Brown slammed Alex Palou with a massive “multi-million” dollar lawsuit. As per Business F1, Brown has decided to move to the London court after the IndyCar driver claimed that the latter would not honor his commitment to the British team.
It all started after Palou confirmed that he would leave Chip Ganassi Racing to join the McLaren IndyCar car team for the 2023 season. However, after Team Ganassi filed a lawsuit, the driver chose to remain there.

Now, coming in 2023 and nearing the end of the season, Palou confirmed that he would not switch teams to join the British giants even though he promised to do so in the first place. This upset Brown and he did not think twice before filing a lawsuit against the driver, asking for a hefty compensation.
Zak Brown filed a strong lawsuit against Palou in London
As per the report, Brown issued proceedings in London’s High Court against Palou. The reason for the lawsuit is to seek compensation since the IndyCar driver did not ‘honor’ the contract.
The report says, “The [law]suit is unprecedented in motor racing and could cost Palou a lot of money if he loses. McLaren is said to be claiming ‘multiple millions'”

However, it was Chip Ganassi Racing that brought in the wave of lawsuits initially. They did it at first when Palou decided to jump to Arrow McLaren after the culmination of the 2022 season.
Chip Ganassi Racing dealt the first blow to McLaren for Palou
As Zak Brown and McLaren moved to the British court against Alex Palou a few weeks back, it was Chip Ganassi Racing who made the move first. The lawsuit said that the IndyCar driver was still tied with Ganassi and he cannot make a further move.
Following this, a verdict came out that forced Palou to stay with Chip Ganassi Racing as McLaren had to give up. However, now the tables have turned as the Woking-based outfit have switched sides and want multi-million dollars as compensation.
Ironically, it was the British team that helped Palou fight the case against Ganassi. It would be even more ironic if Palou wins this case against McLaren too, the team that helped him immensely in the court just a few months ago.
