Sergio Perez was at par with Max Verstappen after the completion of Round four in the 2023 F1 season. However, after that, things slowly began to dismantle for Perez, for which Red Bull fired him with a warning. Now, with that warning, Nico Rosberg came out to reveal Red Bull’s dream candidate to replace the 33-year-old, as per F1 Maximal.

Despite having a brilliant start to his season, Perez saw it all go down drastically. He could barely match Max Verstappen and stands hugely adrift in terms of points despite having the same car.

On the other hand, Lewis Hamilton is just 30 points away from snatching the P2 from Perez. Two good weekends mean he will overtake the former Racing Point driver and bring more troubles for him amid Rosberg’s newly found glorious candidate for the Bulls.

Rosberg finds Red Bull a perfect candidate amid the downfall of Sergio Perez

As Perez is not having the time of his life at Red Bull, several F1 experts have already lined up multiple drivers for the role of racing alongside Verstappen. While most people say Daniel Ricciardo or Yuki Tsunoda could be an option, Rosberg has someone else in mind.

The 2016 F1 champion believes Alex Albon could be a fine addition to Red Bull after how the Williams driver managed to impress everyone this season.

Talking about this, the German former driver said to Sky Sports, as per F1 Maximal, “Albon would actually be a dream candidate for Red Bull next year to replace Pérez.” However, adding Albon to the defending champions would not be possible as the Thai driver has a long-time contract with Williams.

How is Albon performing in 2023?

Alex Albon has been phenomenal in 2023. With the level of performance he delivered throughout the season, he can easily be considered among the best drivers of this season.

Despite this, Red Bull will not get to have him at Milton Keynes, as the Thai driver did not have a great time with the team a few years back. Albon was a teammate to Verstappen for over one and a half seasons until being replaced by Sergio Perez.

The Thai driver is currently in P13 of the driver’s championship with 23 points after 17 rounds. Furthermore, he took his team single-handedly to P7 in the Constructors’ championship and is now striving for more.
