Charles Leclerc rented motorbike for $19 when he first arrived in F1
Buying a dream vehicle of your choice is not difficult when you’re one of the biggest stars in F1. Charles Leclerc, however, kept it simple and chose to stick to the vehicle that brought back good memories for him. Of course, Leclerc is a huge fan of cars and has a collection of extremely expensive and stylish cars. However, that doesn’t mean he’s not fond of two-wheelers.
Leclerc joined F1 in 2018 when Sauber offered him a seat after his F2 Title winning 2017 season. To celebrate his lifelong dream of making it into the sport, the Monegasque driver took his closest friends on a trip outside of Europe to Indonesia. Bali is one of the most popular destinations in Indonesia, and Leclerc along with friends enjoyed their time on the island.
In Bali, the now Ferrari star recalls renting a motorbike that he really loved. It was a bike manufactured by Malamadre Motorcycles and it cost 300,000 Indonesian Rupiyah to rent it for one day. Leclerc had it customized for himself, and fell in love with it which is why he decided to bring it home.

Charles Leclerc brought his favorite bike from Indonesia to Monaco
Leclerc enjoyed his time in Bali & Indonesia so much that he chose to buy the bike and bring it along with him. He revealed that it was a hassle to get it registered in Monaco since it was from another country, but he managed to get it done in the end.
“I have one motorbike, customized, which I bought in Bali,” he said. “When I went there on a trip with my best friends. We rented it on the spot and I wanted to take it with me to Monte Carlo. Even though it was a mess to get it registered to ride there.”

When asked why Leclerc went for that particular bike, he admitted that it was because of the memories. That was the first time he took his close friends outside of Europe, so it holds a special place in his heart.
“Because of the memories it holds,” he said. “I had just arrived in F1. And I decided to take all my closest friends on holiday, for the first time outside Europe. We had a great time.”
