With two back-to-back world championships in the last two years, Max Verstappen has become one of the most popular figures in the Netherlands. So much so that he is now regarded as the most popular ambassador of the country, thanks to his unreal dominance with Red Bull in F1.
Notably, Verstappen’s maiden world championship made him the winner of the prestigious Laureus Sports Award. This made him much more recognizable on a global scale. Now, he’s on his way to picking his third world championship, increasing his fortune and net worth to multiple folds.
Max Verstappen has become so vast in recent years that his net worth has skyrocketed. Sponsors are having a hard time matching his demands. Currently worth $210 million, Verstappen is reportedly ‘too big’ for the sponsors of his own country!
Jumbo, a Dutch-based sponsor will stop sponsoring Verstappen for the same reason next year onwards. However, the Red Bull star will still have Heineken and G-Star RAW, who are also Dutch brands.
Max Verstappen, the most recognized person in his country
Despite being the most recognizable person in the entire country, it’s a shame that not all corporates or brands can make use of his popularity which is now huge all over the world.
Amidst all this, the 25-year-old just got another feather added to his already illustrious hat. SponsorRingen Foundation, in association with the media partner DPG Media, has arranged for an event to find out the most popular ambassador in the world.
The study of measurement, research, and analysis was conducted by Nielsen Sports. The event wasn’t just for sports. It also had music and entertainment with Armin Van Buuren and Chantal Janzen in those categories.

According to Fonk Magazine, the Dutchman came out as the figure with the most famous celebrity fan following among all categories. So much so that 96% of all Dutch people recognize him, and hence, this made him the most suitable human being to be the Dutch ambassador.
Furthermore, the defending F1 world champion is also quite popular around the globe with 79% of his followers on Instagram and YouTube coming from abroad. This led to sports marketeer Rowin Bouwmeester claim that Max Verstappen is mainly a billboard for the Netherlands abroad. This made the Dutch brands fail to cope with his increasing demands.
Verstappen and the brands he’s associated with
The Red Bull star is currently associated with Jumbo, Heineken, and G-Star RAW, which are all Dutch brands. Apart from them, he is also sponsored by EA Sports, Ziggo, CarNext.com, Viaplay, and of course Red Bull.
Accumulating all his earnings from the sponsorships, they add millions to the already mammoth salary of $54,000,0000 that he receives from Red Bull.
All in all, if Max Verstappen continues to ascend like this, his net worth will skyrocket. However, the Dutchman needs to be a bit careful about his retirement statements. These can startle brands who are looking to tie up with the driver on a long-term basis.
