Despite Earning $60,000,000 Every Year, Max Verstappen Chooses Not to Rival With Lewis Hamilton’s Closet

In 2022, Max Verstappen dethroned Lewis Hamilton as the highest-earning F1 driver. F1’s newest champion makes $60 Million a year through racing and the lucrative sponsorship deals he attracts by dominating in F1.

However, the driver has rarely been spotted splurging his millions on new threads. The Dutchman is usually seen in the F1 paddock wearing his Red Bull merch and jeans.

Fans even claim the driver has been rotating his old tuxedo to events. Unlike Hamilton, who is known for being a style icon in the F1 paddock, Verstappen seems to be lacking in the fashion department.

Max Verstappen spotted wearing the same tuxedo by fans

Max Verstappen attended the post-race gala after the 2023 Monaco GP. However, F1 fans noticed the driver wearing a familial tuxedo while he was photographed next to Prince Albert II. Fans claimed that the driver has been running the same pair for years.

A user named ‘SCUDERIAFEMBOY’ commented the Dutchman has been rocking the exact tux at FIA prize-giving ceremonies since 2015. While another user ‘@formuLau16’ wrote, “There are only 4 kinds of Max Verstappen in this world.”

The 2x champion has been labeled a “sustainability king” by fans who asked his model girlfriend Kelly Piquet to buy him a new suit and tie. However, the driver splurges his racing fortunes on other things.

Verstappen owns a 120-ft yacht named “Bagheera” worth $6 million. He also owns a $14 million worth Dassault Falcon 900EX. His most prized possession would be his decked-up sim setup, where he spends most of his free time.

Nike put an end to Verstappen’s fashion line

Max Verstappen once had grand plans to expand into the world of fashion. The 2x world champion had plans of launching his brand of sportswear named “Max 1.” However, sportswear and apparel giant Nike culled his ambitions.

Nike objected to the brand name arguing that it resembles closely with its “Air Max” shoe line, and “Max Force 1” products. The case was escalated to the Benelux Office for Intellectual Property.

Verstappen’s lawyers decided to counter the claims, however, the court sided with the American company. Since then, there has been no new development in this case.

Like every other driver, Verstappen also sells merch. His loyal Dutch fanbase can be spotted in the grandstands, wearing the driver’s threads. Famously, Red Bull featured the Dutchman in a special edition of the Monopoly board game.
