F1 2020 Patch Notes 1.06

The F1 2020 Patch Notes 1.06 have been released by ‘Codemasters’, with the much-awaited Mercedes black livery the highlight of the update.

Codemasters, last week, had released the Patch Notes 1.05 for their hugely successful F1 2020 game. The update focused on correcting race-related issues like qualifying session times. Apart from this, issues relating to sponsors’ logos and payments were also solved. But fans were disappointed to observe that the much talked about Mercedes black livery wasn’t updated in Patch 1.05.

Codemasters have taken due note of it, and Patch 1.06’s highlight is the Black Mercedes livery. There is news for Racing Point fans too, as Sergio Perez and Lance Stroll will now sport the original pair of gloves. Apart from this, progression issues with respect to the My Team career mode were also corrected. And as usual, game stability fixes and bug correction have been done to the game.

All MyTeam career mode problems along with sponsors issues have been corrected in the new patch. Also, all stability issues too have been rectified, so as to provide a better gameplay experience.

Here is the complete breakdown of the updates the Patch 1.06 is adding to the game, as per RealSport101.

  1. The Mercedes livery will be in black, as well as the driver suits.
  2. Racing Point’s Perez and Stroll now wear the original pair of gloves.
  3. An issue in the unranked multiplayer mode where the AI racer had unrealistic lap times has been corrected.
  4. Progression issues in My Team career mode occuring after invitational events, and at end of season has been resolved.
  5. The payment of the Savant sponsor has been corrected.
  6. Other numerous stability corrections have been done for better game play.

Mercedes and the Black Livery

Mercedes brought in the black livery, replacing silver, to highlight their commitment towards diversity in motorsports. In line with this, the Black Mercedes will be seen on the race track throughout the 2020 season, along with the driver suits. Team Boss Toto Wolff had this to say on the pledge they have taken for ‘Black Lives Matter’.

“Racism and discrimination have no place in our society, our sport or our team: this is a core belief of Mercedes. But having the right beliefs and the right mindset isn’t enough if we remain silent.”

“We wish to use our voice and our global platform to speak up for respect and equality, and the Silver Arrow will race in black for the entire 2020 season to show our commitment to greater diversity within our team and our sport.”
