Formula 1 fans were shocked to see the outrageous prices charged for food and drinks at the Miami Grand Prix this past weekend. Several of them mocked the ongoing talks of the United States economy potentially going into a recession by stating that if that were the case, the organizers of the race would not charge such exorbitant prices.
Meanwhile, some others went to the extent of comparing the catering services at the Miami GP to that of the Fyre Festival, a scam music festival organized by con artist Billy McFarland and rapper Ja Rule in 2017.

On similar lines, an F1 fan named Bryan referred to the Miami GP food prices as ‘insanity‘. They mocked how the race organizers charged almost 10 times the price for something that is available at a much cheaper rate from elsewhere.
Insanity.
They are charging essentially $6400 per pound prices for something that costs about $650 a pound.

Max Verstappen won the Miami GP for the second year in a row
Coming back to the racing, reigning Drivers’ Champion Max Verstappen won the Miami GP for the second year in a row by pipping his Red Bull teammate Sergio Perez. The Dutchman had to do it the hard way as he won the race despite starting ninth on the grid.
As a result of this win, Verstappen has also extended his lead in the championship from six points to 14 from Perez. Considering the outstanding form that the 25-year-old is in, it is fair to say that Perez faces a tall order ahead if he is to challenge for the championship this season.
