F1 FP1 results

F1 FP1 Results have gone shockingly in favour of Sergio Perez, with the Racing Point clocking the fastest lap in the Styrian GP.

The Formula One 2020 second weekend is underway with the Practice Sessions at the Styrian Grand Prix. The high speed sessions Racing Point’s Sergio Perez finishing P1, with Max Verstappen and Valtteri Bottas behind him. Lewis Hamilton finished fourth, but would be expected to do better in the weekend. Perez clocked a best lap timing of 1:04:087.

Ferrari have looked woefully off pace again, with both Leclerc and Vettel struggling for grip and straight line pace. However, it would be silly to read too much into FP1 times, with teams experimenting a lot with fuel usage and different modes on the car.

What to look forward to this weekend at the Red Bull Ring?

With Mercedes looking like the team to beat yet gain, the focus in firmly on Racing Point and Red Bull. Sergio Perez and Max Verstappen are looking very impressive, and could pose problems to the German outfit this weekend.

The Mercedes engine is working well in Austria and while Red Bull do look like a threat, we’ll have to wait and see if they have rectified their reliability issues from last weekend.

The qualifying sessions take place tomorrow, with the Final Race on Sunday at Austria’s Red Bull Ring.
