Last weekend, Red Bull broke Mercedes’ race-winning monopoly this season, with Max Verstappen grabbing a fantastic win. This moved him ahead of Valtteri Bottas in the overall Drivers’ Standings. This weekend, it is going to be a fascinating race for the top between Verstappen, Bottas and Lewis Hamilton, the reigning champion.
Elsewhere, Ferrari are putting in a mixed performance, with Charles Leclerc performing admirably, but his teammate Sebastian Vettel struggling. Ferrari will face strong competition from the likes of Racing Point, Renault, McLaren and AlphaTauri.
Racing Point have a lot on their plate this weekend, with Sergio Perez testing negative for covid-19. It is going to interesting to see if they stick-or-twist with Nico Hulkenberg, who has been brilliant since making his F1 comeback a fortnight ago.
The Silverstone-based outfit also have the Ferrari and Renault’s appeal for a stringent punishment to look into. This comes after FIA docked 15 points off Racing Point for alleged irregularities in usage of ‘listed parts’, especially the brake ducts. Racing Point have claimed innocence, and have put an appeal of their own.
