Fashion Monger Lewis Hamilton Collaborates With IWC on His Third Limited Edition $165900 Product

Besides being one of the most decorated F1 drivers, Lewis Hamilton is also known for his bold fashion choices and interest in the fashion industry. Following that, the 7-time world champion has now launched another one of his limited edition products in collaboration with IWC, which is worth $165,900.

After collaborating with multiple designers in the fashion industry, Hamilton recently started his own clothing line under the ‘+44 store’ label. To kick start the venture, Hamilton had teamed up with Takashi Murakami, a renowned artist, to design the t-shirts.

The British star is often seen flaunting his bold fashion choices on the paddock, and now he has also spread his wings in the business of luxurious accessories. However, this is not the first time, as he had released two more limited edition timepieces before this.

IWC has long been the sponsor of the Mercedes F1 team and even released some of the expensive Top Gun-inspired watches in collaboration with Hamilton. But this time around, the watchmaker has taken another step in launching the IWC Portugieser Tourbillon Retrograde Chronograph Lewis Hamilton.

This particular watch is not just about aesthetics, as it features high-end watchmaking. It is the first one to be based on the Portugeiser. The large case of the watch is 43.5mm in diameter and 15.9mm in height. It is made using 950 platinum with brushed and polished surfaces and is topped by an arched edge sapphire crystal that gives it a luxurious design and adds to colors.

Furthermore, Hamilton has chosen the rich teal-colored dial combined with the textile strap and a folding clasp. It also features 12 small diamonds for the hours, along with the logo of the 7-time world champion on the dial. Only 44 pieces of this watch will be produced to denote the number Hamilton drives with.

The first two collaborations with IWC

Hamilton launched the first collaboration in 2014 when he had Nico Rosberg as his arch-rival and teammate in Mercedes. The first edition was a full-time Chronograph launched under the Ingenieur Chronograph Edition Lewis Hamilton segment.

This watch was produced in collaboration with both the drivers, and only 250 pieces were made available. The British star’s second partnership with IWC kicked in 2019 under the Big Pilot Perpetual Calendar Lewis Hamilton label.

His 2nd collaboration was a bold design with a black ceramic case and a burgundy-red dial. It featured gold accents, a crown and case back, and a perpetual calendar.
