Fastest F1 Pitstop: Which team holds the world record of Fastest F1 pitspot

Fastest F1 Pitstop: Which Formula 1 team holds the world record of least time taken in a pitstop during a race when was it made.

Pitstops can make or break the race for a team, that is why a huge amount of investment is made in the training of the crew in the pit. From changing tyres to handling a piece of broken equipment.

Everything is upon the crew standing in the pit if they fail to react on the team, the team can lose its objective of the day. This is the reason why F1 is a team sport and not limited to the skills of the driver and the speed of the car.

On average, a crew takes 2-5 seconds to handle the purpose of a normal pitstop, also depends upon the type of work required at that moment.

There have been instances when even giants like Mercedes took 50 seconds in the pit after Lewis Hamilton crashed his front side of the car in the German Grand Prix in 2019.

The team had little time to react on it and chaos broke when Valtteri Bottas was also set to change tyres and followed Hamilton in the pit lane, with this both the drivers lost their hold in the race.

In another instance, Daniel Ricciardo lost his win at Monaco Grand Prix in 2016 to Lewis Hamilton when his Red Bull crew team took more time than required to change tyres.

But the Austrian team is not so poor in handling in the pitstops as they are considered one of the most efficient teams on the grid during pitstops.

As mentioned above, Red Bull is one of the most efficient sides of the pitstops. The Austrian outfit clocked 1.82 during the Brazilian Grand Prix 2019 to set the record of the fastest pitstop.

Speaks volume when you break your own record twice in the same season, Red Bull should trade this skill of pitstops with other teams too.
