Fernando Alonso Renault salary: How much will the F1 legend earn during his 2 year contract with Renault?
Fernando Alonso is coming back to F1 and will be earning a handsome salary with Renault for his 2 year stint with the team.
Fernando Alonso’s Renault salary
According to The Sun, Alonso is to earn approximately £15 million a season by 2022. The Spaniard is believed to be earning a total of 33 million euros in total, by the time his contract expires after two years. In addition, he will be receiving bonuses for each sponsor who comes to the team thanks to him.

Renault has had to reduce their expenditure by about 2 billion euros in the forthcoming years. But surprisingly, there doesn’t seem to be much reduction as far as the Formula 1 branch is concerned, given the huge sum they are paying for Alonso’s services.

Alonso’s Formula 1 career has been knotted with Renault. Fernando Alonso secured his first pole, first F1 victory and both his F1 World Championships with the French automobile giants.
Sadly, this move seals the fate of Sebastian Vettel, with a potential seat at Renault in 2021 now no longer a possibility.
Fernando Alonso agrees to lower his salary
The 38-year-old Spaniard will make more than the Ferrari drivers of 2021. Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc will not be earning higher than ten million euros a year.
Although, other top riders such as Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton will be earning more than Alonso. Also, Daniel Ricciardo, his Renault teammate, will be paid higher than the former world champion.

During his last stint with McLaren, Alonso used to earn around 30 million euros. Thus, his present salary happens to be a considerable cut.
