Fernando Alonso has bene on cloud nine since joining Aston Martin at the start of the 2023 season. After struggling in the midfield for the last two years, Alonso is finally at the front of the grid fighting for podiums again. He went as far as calling the Aston Martin AMR23, the fastest car he has ever driven. In fact, he is so attached to Aston Martin right now, that it seems as though he is ready to split up with an iconic Ferrari car of his.
At the Monaco GP last weekend, Alonso achieved his best finish of the season. The Spanish driver finished P2, in a race that could have seen him become the winner if Aston Martin had their strategy right. Nevertheless, he was elated after the outing and went on to thank his team hugely, after his podium.
Following the Grand Prix weekend, Alonso took to his Instagram account to post a picture of him with his iconic Ferrari Enzo. Alonso bought the car back in 2011, but as things stand, he is ready to say goodbye to it.
Fernando Alonso bids adieu to iconic Ferrari Enzo after 12 years
Alonso posted a picture of him next to this 2011 Ferrari Enzo and let his fans know that it will be going up for auction. The caption with the picture said, “Happy to announce that I will put my Enzo (first scoca) number 1 up for sale in Monaco. I hope the new owner of this unique piece enjoys it very much.”

For potential buyers, the best thing about the Enzo belonging to Alonso is that it only has 2,982 miles on the clock. Hence, one could guess that the asking price for this once the bidding starts will be pretty big.

MonacoCarAutctions is the name of the company that will be auctioning off this car. It is set to go live on 8th June, so nothing has been said about the price as of yet. However, according to SuperCarBlondie, the car could be sold at a price range of $4,000,000. This is because a similar car was sold at a similar price range very recently.
Alonso aiming for new heights with Aston Martin
Apart from Red Bull and Max Verstappen, Aston Martin and Alonso have been the story of the season so far. So far, Alonso has five podiums in six races, but he isn’t planning on stopping there. The next race takes place in Barcelona, in Alonso’s home country.
The 41-year-old is looking forward to the Spanish GP, particularly because of upgrades that Aston Martin are reportedly brining. The last time Alonso won an F1 race was back in 2013. Being stuck at 32 race wins for almost 10 years isn’t something he wants.
💣🚨BREAKING🟢
I have been told the simulator data for the #AMR23 upgrades is absolutely promising and #AstonMartin might be able to challenge RedBull at Montmeló.
Up to two tenths quicker per lap.
Hold tight, 33rd is coming.

Interestingly enough, the last race he won in F1 was in Spain itself. Fernando Alonso will be hoping that history repeats itself next weekend at the Circuit de Catalunya-Barcelona.
