Michael Masi’s decision lost Lewis Hamilton his 8th title

Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen were involved in a ferocious title in the 2021 season. This was one of a kind championship season that went on until the last lap of the 2021 season finale.

Hamilton was leading the race until a late safety car found its way to the track after Nicholas Latifi crashed. Initially as it was known, the cars behind safety car are not supposed to overtake each other, but during that race, Masi allowed the cars between Hamilton and Verstappen to unlap themselves and this led to Hamilton losing his record 8th championship title.

After the insider’s revelations, the Business F1 columnist revealed that drink or drug test have never been a part of the race control. Masi’s ‘human error’ was categorised under more cigarettes rather than normal.
