Matt Bishop has recently called the FIA out for their antics against Lewis Hamilton instead of putting security in check. The former Aston Martin man slammed the governing body for failing to keep their security in order after Esteban Ocon had a near miss at Baku.
Bishop took to his official Twitter handle to share his thoughts as he slammed Mohammed ben Sulayem. He wrote, “We’ll have absolutely no more footling nonsense from you about trivia.”
Message to Mohammed ben Sulayem: we’ll have absolutely no more footling nonsense from you about trivia such as Lewis Hamilton’s nose studs ’til you’ve got the FIA’s race-safety house in order. End of. #AzerbaijanGP https://t.co/SaaR6ijy31

The former Aston Martin man went on, “Such as Lewis Hamilton nose studs ’til you’ve got the FIA’s race-safety house in order.” Bishop focused on how the FIA focuses on the seven-time world champion and his jewelry but failed to put security checks in place.
FIA, in the past, has put clampdowns on the Mercedes driver over safety issues. The F1 governing body raised repeated questions over safety concerns as Hamilton continued to wear his jewelry.
What happened in Azerbaijan with Esteban Ocon?
Nearing the end of the race, the Alpine driver opted to pit for his mandatory stop. As the Frenchman dived into the pit, he came across a sea of people on the pit entry.
It is believed that the people present photographers and engineers were waiting for Sergio Perez to cross the chequered flag. As they began to flock to the pit entry, they didn’t expect Ocon to arrive at the penultimate minute.

Moreover, the officials were seen setting up the parc ferme barriers seconds before the Alpine driver made his pit entry. Following this, the FIA took immediate measures to reconsider its end-of-race procedures and protocols.
Ocon is glad that no one was hurt
Following the shocking incident, the Frenchman shared his thoughts on Twitter. He wrote that he’s glad that no one was hurt in the “Scary” close call moment in the pitlane.
The French driver also stated that the authority must ensure that “things like that don’t happen again.” It’s been a week to forget for Ocon, who once again finished outside points this season.
Furthermore, F1 commentators Ted Kravitz and David Croft called the incident shambolic. While reporting the incident, he said, “There are people all over the pit lane. What is this about? This is a shambles, this is an absolute shambles.”
