“He has all my data” – Lando Norris reveals he’s helping McLaren teammate Daniel Ricciardo in every way possible
“He has all my data” – Lando Norris is being the perfect teammate to Daniel Ricciardo, but expects the latter to improve on his own henceforth.
Daniel Ricciardo has had a sluggish start to his McLaren career by his high standards. He has just 50 points halfway through the season, with teammate Lando Norris doing the bulk of the scoring.
To help Ricciardo settle in, Norris is being the perfect teammate, helping him in every which way possible. But he does concede that it is down to the Aussie to ultimately improve on his own.
“I don’t know where else I can help. I tell him what I feel, he has all my data, he can see everything I do, I describe things very well in the debriefings and what I do.
“I’m not going to lie, but at the end of the day it’s not up to me.”
1️⃣6️⃣3️⃣ points each. 😳

McLaren tied with Ferrari on points
Traditional rivals, and expected to compete fiercely for the third place this season, both teams have accumulated 163 points.
But while Ferrari duo Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz have a more equitable contribution, Norris has scored more than 2/3rd of McLaren’s points. No wonder he is hoping Ricciardo gets back to his best soon, and seal the final place in the constructors ‘podium’.
“Of course I want him to do well because that’s what we need for the Championship. We want to beat Ferrari and for that he has to do well, but I can only do something to help him to a certain extent.
“Ultimately, he’s a different driver. And I drive differently. Every driver drives differently than anyone else in the world. And what he feels is different from me, and what I feel is different from him.”
