“He’s so natural in his talent”- Sergio Perez in awe of his teammate Max Verstappen
“He’s so natural in his talent”- Sergio Perez once again lauds the talents of his new teammate Max Verstappen; he calls him technically strong.
Sergio Perez is the key which Red Bull claims to be seeking for a while, but on the other hand, Sergio Perez seems to be the one admirer of Max Verstappen.
A few weeks ago, Perez called Verstappen a tough opponent to compete with, now taking his praises a level above, he calls him a natural talent and backs his technical skills.
Speaking after the Red Bull’s film day at Silverstone last week, Perez told the media: “Max is a great talent, and I can’t really wait to start working together with him.
“You can see that he’s so natural in his talent, and technically he’s very strong as well, so we’re just looking forward to getting the car up there and to start fighting to get as many points as possible for the team.”
Max Verstappen determined to beat Sergio Perez.
While Perez is singing praises for the Dutchman, Verstappen is determined to defeat his teammate this season, as one’s partner is the biggest challenge in Formula 1.
“Sergio’s been in F1 now a while,” Verstappen said. “I think he’s proven that he’s a good points scorer, and I hope that as a team, we can make it difficult for Mercedes, especially because I think they still are the favourites.
“So I just hope as a team, and together with Sergio, we can score a lot of points,” added the 23-year-old who, in his F1 career, has partnered Daniel Kvyat at Toro Rosso, as well as Daniel Ricciardo, Pierre Gasly and Alex Albon at Red Bull.
Nevertheless, the duo has to maintain a cordial relationship, for the sake of Perez’s contract extension at least, as his further stay will depend upon the stability of the new partnership.
