“His positive impact on Formula 1 is huge” – F1 Chief Executive Officer Stefano Domenicali has termed Lewis Hamilton’s contract extension with Mercedes as ‘fantastic news for Formula 1′”.

Formula 1 boss Stefano Domenicali is delighted with the news of Lewis Hamilton extending his stay with Mercedes beyond this season. Domenicali termed Hamilton’s achievements in the sport as “incredible”, set to continue for at least two more seasons.

“This is fantastic news for Formula 1 and I am delighted that Lewis will stay in F1 for at least another two years.  What he has achieved in this sport is incredible and I know he has more to come. He is a global superstar on and off the race track and his positive impact on Formula 1 is huge.”

Mercedes and Lewis Hamilton – A mega-successful partnership

Hamilton has won six of his seven world titles with Mercedes, highlighting their incredibly successful association. Markus Schäfer, Mercedes-Benz CEO and Non-Executive Chairman of the Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 Team spoke of this, and the driver’s impact on society as a whole.
