Horrified Lando Norris Relives 2021 Nightmare as $30,000,000 Worth McLaren Gets Robbed Again

Lando Norris seems to have developed an affinity for robbers. The McLaren star had a super-expensive watch stolen while visiting the 2020 Euro Final between England and Italy. Norris had to revisit that trauma once more as he was robbed yet again while on vacation with his friends.

In 2021, Norris had been the victim of a violent robbery when he was put into a headlock and someone stole his watch during the Euro Finals. Reported to be worth around $181,000 by The Mirror, the watch was a Richard Mille RM 67-02 specially designed for the young British racer.

Norris was quite naturally affected very badly following the incident. According to a statement by McLaren, “Thankfully, Lando was unharmed but he is understandably shaken.

However, Norris had revealed to Sky Sports F1 that he struggled a lot mentally following the robbery. He had said that he wasn’t in the best of conditions and was missing out on a lot of sleep.

Vacation goes wrong for Lando Norris

Norris has turned out to be the victim of a robbery once again. This time, the incident happened when the McLaren driver was on a vacation in Marbella, Spain, along with his friends.

In a statement given to PA Media, Norris claimed that he and his friends had gone out for dinner when their Villa was attacked by the robbers. “A mixture of many things were stolen. Some were expensive and some were not so expensive,” explained Norris.

It was Norris’ TikTok-er friend Jennie Dimova, who had first broken the news of the robbery. She was the one who first shared with her fans on TikTok that she had been robbed while on vacation. The whole issue has been reported to the police and investigations are underway.

Norris is not the only driver to have been robbed recently

F1 drivers are one of the most highly-paid athletes in the world. Therefore, it is not a surprise that they are one of the favorite targets for burglars. There have been various F1 drivers who have been robbed of their belongings recently.

In 2022, Ferrari star Charles Leclerc had his watch stolen in Italy ahead of the Emilia Romagna GP. The Richard Mille watch worth $320,000 was snatched from Leclerc’s arm when he was stopped by fans for photographs in a poorly lit area on Via Salvatori.

A similar incident happened with Sebastian Vettel in Barcelona. Following the 2022 Spanish Grand Prix, the four-time World Champion had his bag stolen, which he later recovered with the help of the GPS feature on his earbuds. However, all the belongings from his bag were gone.
