"I Don't Need to Buy Him a Present": Lewis Hamilton Has a Laugh After Max Verstappen Dedicates Red Bull's 100th Win to Jos on Father's Day

Reigning Drivers’ Champion Max Verstappen continued his dominance at the Canadian Grand Prix this past weekend as he led the race from start to finish to grab his fourth consecutive win. Since the Dutchman won this race on Father’s Day, he dedicated the victory to his dad, Jos Verstappen. Soon after Max finished praising his father, Lewis Hamilton had a laugh.

This was not the only time that Max thanked Jos as he also posted a message earlier in the day. Interestingly, fans roasted the 25-year-old for putting up a post with his father. Several reminded Max about the time Jos left him alone at the gas station.

Even though Jos has had his harsh ways of grooming Max to become a successful F1 driver, one cannot deny the positive influence that he has had in helping his son reach the heights he has reached today. Max himself has thanked his father on several occasions by explaining how Jos did everything in his potential to him the 25-year-old succeed.

Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton share a hilarious exchange

After an enthralling Canadian GP main race, arch-rivals Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton shared a hilarious exchange during their presser. While answering a reporter’s question, the Dutchman seemingly got carried away as he supposedly mixed English with Dutch, according to a fan.

When asked to explain the influence Jos had on his career, Max replied, “Today was of course also “Vader’s Day”, so I don’t need to buy him a present. I did this (win the Canadian GP), so I think he’s happy“.

After Max finished with his reply, Lewis seemingly pointed out the mistake the Dutchman made. The 38-year-old mocked the way Max pronounced Father’s Day.

While Max may have made a mistake during the presser, he was once again almost flawless during the race. The Dutchman grabbed his 41st career win in Canada and in the process equaled the legendary Ayrton Senna.

Max cruised to victory in Canada despite facing multiple challenges

Max Verstappen lay down another marker in his pursuit of a third world championship title as he dominated the Canadian Grand Prix from start to finish. The Dutchman did so despite struggling massively to get the right temperature in his Red Bull tires.

Although the 25-year-old was often heard complaining on the radio about his tires, his pace never seemed to be affected. And it is pertinent to note that Max just did not have struggles with the tires.

During the race, Max’s Red Bull also had an unfortunate collision with a bird. As a result, the bird got trapped near his Red Bull brakes, making it difficult for him to use them. And the complexity of the task at hand for Max just did not end there.

Red Bull advisor Helmut Marko also expressed how lucky his team got with Ferrari qualifying way out of position. The 80-year-old believes that had the Prancing Horse qualified near his team, then they would have posed a real threat to Max as they were quicker on both tire compounds.

With Max managing to win the race despite all the challenges posed to him, he ensured that the team not only won their 100th F1 race but also maintained their 100% record this season of winning all eight races so far. Max has won six of the eight races, while his teammate Sergio Perez has won the other two.
