'I Have No ****ing DRS': Max Verstappen Reveals a Hilarious 'DRS' Gift He Once Received from Red Bull

Max Verstappen once received a hilarious gift from his Red Bull team after he faced multiple issues with the DRS actuator during the 2022 Spanish Grand Prix. Even though the Dutchman won this race, the issues he faced during qualifying cost him a chance at pole position.

Following what was a frustrating day, his team gave him a ‘DRS trophy’ inside a Red Bull can. Speaking of it, the Dutchman said, “So, it is a can of Red Bull and the DRS actuator is in there“. He referred to the gift as ‘cool’ before adding what was imprinted on the trophy, “DRS…I have no ****ing DRS“.

F1 fans give hilarious reactions to Red Bull’s gift for Verstappen

Several F1 fans such as Desmond stated how Red Bull team principal Christian Horner knows how the side needs to deal with their ‘drama queen’.

Meanwhile, some other fans such as Remy stated how only Red Bull could come up with such a gift for the Dutchman.

And then there were some fans such as Tor who stated that it is time for Verstappen to ‘start bedtime stories with Max segment‘.

What problem did Max Verstappen face at the 2022 Spanish GP?

After qualifying second on the grid with a lap time that was 0.323s slower than that of pole-sitter Charles Leclerc, Max Verstappen explained the troubles he had. The Dutchman said (as quoted by f1.com), “A lot of people, of course, improved on the second run, which is quite normal of course, but my DRS didn’t open“.

Because of the issue that he faced, the Dutchman referred to the situation as a ‘shame‘ as he could not display his full potential. However, despite starting second on the grid, Verstappen drove a brilliant race to claim the win by finishing more than 12 seconds clear of his teammate Sergio Perez after Leclerc retired due to an engine issue.

Max Verstappen dominated the 2022 season with a record 15 wins

Max Verstappen was absolutely relentless over the 2022 season as he registered several records, including that of the most number of wins in a season (15). The previous best was 13 race victories, recorded by both Michael Schumacher (2004) and Sebastian Vettel (2013).

Alongside this staggering record, the Red Bull driver also scored the most points in a season (454). The previous best was 413 which was scored by seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton during the 2019 season.

And these were not the only records that Verstappen registered as he also had the biggest margin of victory in the championship in the hybrid era. The 25-year-old beat second-placed Charles Leclerc by a whopping 146 points. This margin of win was 22 points greater than the margin of victory Hamilton had over Valtteri Bottas in 2020.
